Adult Bicycle Maintenance 101

Program Overview

The Adult Bicycle Maintenance 101 class is intended for any adult rider who would like to learn simple care for their bicycle, all while being directed by the “hands-on” assistance of our experienced instructors.

We’ll cover everything from basic bicycle terminology, wheel removal, flat tire repair, simple adjustments for seats and handlebars, bicycle lubrication and cleaning, and simple road repairs.

This class is designed to make any rider feel more comfortable in handling the most common bicycle issues, what tools they need for the most common bicycle repairs, and what they should bring with them when they get out and ride.

Participants must be 18 and older or be between the ages of 14 and 17 with an adult parent/guardian to register. Participants must bring their own bicycle and this class is not intended to repair non-functional bicycles.

These classes will take place in the Building Bikes Lab located in our facility at 29th and the Canal. Facility address: 1271 W 29th St, Indianapolis, IN 46208.

Adults 18 and older: $40

*Registration fees go directly back to supporting Kids Building Bikes

**Discount eligibility rates are available to those that qualify based on factors such as gross household income.
