It’s been a whirlwind 2014 that has featured more than a dozen new corporate partners and foundations coming on board to support our Kids Riding Bikes operations. We’re thankful for each and every single partner, but today we want to put the spotlight on Franciscan St. Francis Hospital and the exciting 2014 relationship we’ve had with them.
We first met Larry Meade, from Franciscan St. Francis back in April at the WTHR Health and Fitness Expo. He approached us on the Sunday before the expo opened and we chatted for about 20 minutes about what we do and how Kids Riding Bikes is in the community.
Honestly, it was a whirlwind after that, a quick set of meetings and a desire for both Nine13sports and Franciscan St. Francis to find ways to work together. First it was supporting the Big Red Bash, then providing programs inside the hospital for their staff and capped with providing programs in schools in both Mooresville and Perry, ultimately creating over 1,500 youth interactions.
So, in this week of reflection and thanks, we give a huge thanks to the staff at Franciscan St. Francis Hospital and specifically, Larry Meade, who believed in our vision and understood the impact we make in the community and how his support could further our mission.
We’ve got some exciting things in store for 2015 and certainly hope to make Franciscan St. Francis part of our big plans. Stay tuned, the fun is just beginning….!
