School Partners, please take note, IU Health has been a great partner in the past and we are proud to have received funding from them previously through their Community Outreach program.  They have launched an awesome effort, IU Health Strong Schools, to further promote getting kids moving.  We encourage all of our school partners across Central Indiana to apply for this application.  If you’re not content with your grant writing–shoot us an email and we’ll be glad to help you work through the process!

IU Health Strong Schools

Research shows that healthier students are better learners and that physical activity can improve student academic achievement as well as other factors that influence academic success in school, such as classroom behavior and attendance.1

Would you like to add 30 minutes of physical activity to your elementary students’ day and help build their academic success? Indiana University Health is committed to improving health and supports opportunities for more physical activity in our elementary schools and communities.

Because healthier and more active kids tend to learn better, IU Health and Action for Healthy Kids have teamed up to provide 22 IU Health Strong Schools grants to elementary schools across the state.

The following IU Health Strong Schools grants are available:

  • $1000 IU Health Strong Schools (Focus on students) Eighteen of these grants will be awarded.
  • $1500 IU Health Stronger Schools (Focus on students & staff) Two of these grants will be awarded.
  • $3000 IU Health Strongest Schools (Focus on students, staff & community) Two of these grants will be awarded.

Review the IU Health Strong Schools application paperwork prior to applying online. Apply for an IU Health Strong Schools grant at the Action for Healthy Kids grant portal.
