One of our great supporters, Jim Brown, is always looking for different ways to make an impact not only on Nine13sports, but the broader community as a whole. He’s participating in Pelotonia, a fundraising bicycle ride August 8-10 that raises funds for cancer research at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center.
He made us an offer for this week, help promote his Pelotonia fundraising goal of $1,800, and for one week he will match all donations received with a donation to Nine13sports out of his own pocket.
You read that right, help him hit his goal and he’ll help us with Kids Riding Bikes. Help Jim raise money to fight cancer, help us get kids riding bikes, help make an impact on two great causes all at once.
Jim’s website says:
Just a week before the 2013 ride, my aunt passed away from brain cancer. She had one of the rarest forms of cancer and while she fought for more than two years, she is finally without pain.
I have another family member as well as a good friend that both continue their fight against this awful disease every day. All three are way too young to have to go through something like this. I’m riding Pelotonia for the second time to raise money for cancer research that may one day lead to a cure for this awful disease.
This year’s ride will have an even bigger impact for me. Will you stand with me today?
