Kids Riding Bikes® is wrapping up an exciting and productive week of programming this week at Brentwood Elementary School powered by Hendricks Regional Health! This is the second school in the Plainfield Community School Corporation that we’ve served as we delivered our programming to students at Van Buren Elementary School two weeks ago. The youth at Brentwood, similar to the students at Van Buren and essentially all of the schools that we bring our bikes to, were beyond thrilled to get a chance to participate in our one-of-a-kind bicycle simulator program. We had the chance to work with all of the students (upwards of 450 enrolled) and that always makes us happy!

A big thank you to the Superintendent for stopping by and showing your students how significant living a physically active lifestyle is.

In addition to engaging on our bicycle simulators, the students perceived just how many advantages and benefits the bicycle can offer them, such as being a legitimate method of transportation, an activity that they’ll be able to do for the rest of their life, and being able to explore and really get to know the area around them. And, living in Plainfield, which has over 20 miles of pathways in their trail system, is without question a textbook location if you are wanting to explore your surroundings on two wheels.

One of our special moments of the week was when the Superintendent of Plainfield Schools, Mr. Scott Olinger, jumped on a bike and was pushed to the limit by an extremely competitive Kindergarten student. It’s always heartwarming for our staff to see administrators and students work together as a team all while improving their overall health and well-being.

Thank you to Hendricks Regional Health for giving us another opportunity to make a positive and long-lasting impact on the youth of Hendricks County! We’re proud to partner with a health care provider that’s so committed to being a force for good in the community and improving the quality of life of its residents.
