Kids Riding Bikes at The Phalen Leadership Academy came to a conclusion on Friday after four successful weeks of programs! This was our first time serving the students and teachers of the charter school off of Illinois street just north of downtown Indianapolis and it surely was a school that we won’t soon forget.

One of the many fun groups we had at the Academy!

We worked with every scholar at PLA over the four week period we were at the school and savored the opportunity to get each and every one moving and active on our bicycle simulators. Not only did each of the 275 scholars show enthusiasm to ride our bikes, they also were incredibly determined, resilient, and showcased excellent teamwork skills. Many of the children stated that they couldn’t wait to get out and ride their bikes this spring. Furthermore, the physical education instructor at PLA, Mr. Pearson, put together an amazing thank you video reflecting on our time at the school and how much him and his scholars were grateful for the chance to ride our bikes. Check out the video below!

Thank you to the students and teachers at PLA for the opportunity to serve your school. It was a privilege to spend the past four Friday’s at your school and to create unforgettable memories for not only your scholars, but for our staff as well. Also, the opportunity to work with The Phalen Leadership Academy was possible because of The Eugene & Marilyn Glick Family Foundation. Many thanks to the Foundation and Marianne Glick for giving our organization the chance to give back to our community and allow us to have such a positive impact on so many youth right here in Indianapolis. This is just one of many Indianapolis schools we plan on delivering our Kids Riding Bikes programs to this year thanks to our partnership!
