The 2017-2018 school year has been such an exciting and eventful time here at Nine13sports. Over the years our organizational goal has remained the same: Get more Kids Riding Bikes, and in the 2017-18 school year, we did just that. We brought our Kids Riding Bikes program to a grand total of 76 schools this past year! This number is a 20-school increase from the previous school year and is our second largest spike in our organization’s history.

Perhaps the most exciting aspect is that of the 76 schools we brought our program to this year, 49 of them received our Kids Riding Bikes program for the very first time. At Nine13sports we love connecting with more and more new schools, because new schools = new kids riding bikes, which ultimately contributes to the satisfaction of our goal of getting local youth to be active on our bikes. In the 2017-18 school year we were able to branch out to a number of schools in new districts and areas of central Indiana, ranging from IPS, Archdiocese, Hendricks County, ISBVI, and many more.

Being able to extend our reach to so many new schools means we get to further spread our love and appreciation for using the bikes as a tool for not only physical fitness, but also as a tool for fun. Across 76 different schools we got to teach kids that physical fitness doesn’t have to be a chore, nor does it have to be monotonous. Through our Kids Riding Bikes program, the students learn how simple it can be to stay physically active, and it might even provide them with a new method of transportation that they hadn’t thought of or tried before.

Overall, the 2017-2018 school year was a glaring success for Nine13sports and it only made us more certain about our constant efforts in the community. As a result of these efforts throughout this school year, kids were made active, happy, and along the way learned a multitude of vital life skills from our biking program and coaches. At Nine13sports, we’re proud of the hard work done this school year, but we already can’t wait to reach even more schools next year to get more Kids Riding Bikes!
