Indianapolis, IN ─ December 11, 2014 ─ Central Indiana youth non-profit Nine13sports has teamed up with Arbor Homes, a staple of the Indianapolis home building community for the last 20 years. This partnership will fund Nine13sports Kids Riding Bikes programming in the Metropolitan School District of Washington Township, a brand new district for the organization.

The two schools to specifically benefit will be Nora Elementary and Spring Mill Elementary. The bicycle based fitness curriculum will benefit multiple grades and will take place as part of their already scheduled physical education classes. Every student in the grades being served will have a chance to participate in the multi-week program between its launch in December and the end of the school year.

“We’re fortunate to be in a position to make an impact through charitable giving thanks to the rebounding home market”, said Arbor Homes Founder and President, Curtis Rector, “we understand the importance of youth fitness and promoting a healthy lifestyle and Nine13sports is a great way to champion the cause while also making an impact directly in the school district. We are also excited to be able to activate our Arbor Homes family and to help them learn more about volunteer opportunities and serving the same community that has welcomed us with open arms for the last 20 years.”

While specific financial details of the relationship are not being made publicly available, the financial commitment made is one of the largest corporate partnerships that Nine13sports has closed to date in 2014. Additionally, Nine13sports and Arbor Homes will be collaborating to have employees of the company volunteer with Nine13sports and to learn more about the day to day operations of the nonprofit.

“We’re incredibly honored that Arbor Homes has chosen our Kids Riding Bikes services to benefit from their generosity” said Tom Hanley, Nine13sports Executive Director, “not only does this represent a sizable financial contribution from Arbor Homes to fund the programs, it once again highlights the unique example of how we operate with one foot in the philanthropic world while being appealing to not only charitable goals, but also the marketing appeal for our corporate partners.”

The programs within the two schools in Washington Township will be branded “Kids Riding Bikes built by Arbor Homes”, a slight play on the “powered by” moniker that Nine13sports traditionally utilizes to recognize corporate partners. This will be the second time that Arbor Homes has been a corporate partner to Nine13sports, the first came in the summer of 2013 when the company helped support summer bicycle programs at Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis.

“One thing we work very hard for at Nine13sports is to build long term goals and relationships with our corporate partners”, said Hanley, “we are not a nonprofit that receives a donation and then goes quiet for a year before asking for another contribution. Instead, we continuously engage our corporate supporters through various methods and identify what goals they have and help develop a proactive approach to help them succeed. We’re thrilled that Arbor Homes will be part of our 2014 and 2015 youth fitness effort and I will continue to show them that their philanthropic support is making an impact for hundreds of youth.”
