October 27, 2016 ─ Hendricks Regional Health and Nine13sports have finalized a corporate partnership that will continue to bring the innovative youth bicycle fitness programming created by Nine13sports to schools in Hendricks County in 2017. This will be the second year that Kids Riding Bikes powered by Hendricks Regional Health will be in Hendricks County Schools.
“I’m incredibly excited to have Hendricks Regional Health continue to be a leader in the healthcare community by supporting our programs in schools,” said Tom Hanley, CEO of Nine13sports. “The relationship we have been able to build served more than 2,000 students in Hendricks County for the first time in 2016, and we anticipate our programs to continue to grow in 2017 to try and meet the immense demand from the community within the county.”
This partnership will impact the community in multiple ways, most visibly by providing Kids Riding Bikes programs to more than 2,000 youth for a once per week program session over the course of four weeks. The students will participate using Nine13sports stationary bicycle simulators within their physical education class during the school day. Additionally, Nine13sports will be visible at numerous community events in partnership with Hendricks Regional Health throughout the year. This will provide a unique engagement opportunity for both youth and adults.
“Nine13sports continues to be a growing force in the development of creative physical education programs,” said Adam Scott, Community Relations Manager at Hendricks Regional Health. “Our 2016 partnership delivered engaging curriculum that supplemented physical education teachers’ lessons. Our continued partnership with Nine13sports will get even more students moving and active in 2017, helping Hendricks Regional Health achieve our overall goal of providing our community indispensable healthcare resources.”
The partnership between Hendricks Regional Health and Nine13sports will continue to serve schools in the cities of Plainfield, Brownsburg, Danville, and Avon, and 2017 will see other schools within Hendricks County receive this unique programming as scheduling allows. Nine13sports will continue to have an exclusive healthcare industry relationship with Hendricks Regional Health within the county and will jointly provide additional resources and education on bicycle safety, 911 education, and community health resources.
