As part of a continuing series that will be running every Thursday, we’re going to be featuring the backgrounds and services of our numerous sponsors and partners. Furthermore, we’re going to exhibit how their relationship with us is making an impact in the lives of youth and in the community. Today, our focus is on Junior Achievement:
Organization Overview:Â
Junior Achievement is dedicated to educating students about work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs. JA programs help prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs which make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. Students put these lessons into action, and help strengthen their communities. In Central Indiana, we provide in school education program to grades K-12 as well as their experiential capstone programs such as JA BizTown® and Finance Park® Virtual, which enforces the idea that kids learn by “doing.”

Nothing warms our heart more than to see our bikes set up in the middle of BizTown every summer!
Our relationship with Junior Achievement surfaced in June 2014, when we partnered with the organization for their JA BizTown Summer Camp. This fresh alternative for Central Indiana youth gives them the chance to learn more about entrepreneur and philanthropic topics, in addition to highlighting experiential learning opportunities with the traditional Junior Achievement BizTown® venue (a kid-tested blast of fun). Our role within the summer program, which we participated in last year as well, is to share both entrepreneurial wisdom and our Kids Riding Bikes® programming with them. Students learn the value of  regular exercise, the costs of poor health and life habits, and how much enjoyment bicycle riding can bring them.
We’re thankful to partner with another non-profit organization that deeply cares about the future lives of today’s youth. We’re proud of our relationship we have with Junior Achievement and the opportunity we have to collaborate with them every year during their Summer Camp! We’re already looking forward to setting up our bikes for the camp this summer!
