As part of a continuing series, we’re going to be featuring the backgrounds and services of our numerous sponsors and partners. Furthermore, we’re going to exhibit how their relationship with us is making an impact in the lives of youth and in the community. Today, our focus is on Major Hospital:
Since 1924, Major Hospital has provided quality health care to the families of Shelby County and the surrounding communities. We are committed to investing in the latest technologies, advanced facilities and exceptional people. This commitment is backed by our promise… at Major Hospital you will always receive quality care from quality people.
Major Hospital exists to create and deliver superior health care solutions by providing our patients and other customers with optimal clinical and economic outcomes.
Relationship with Nine13sports:
Nine13’s partnership with Major Hospital migrated in June 2013 for the Indiana Healthcare Bicycle Challenge. In May of the following year, we participated in the 1-2-3- Go Event in Shelbyville. The concept that we developed for the event was incredibly straightforward – the school who walked the most (tracked using pedometers) in the time period won a 5-week Kids Riding Bikes® program sponsored by Major Hospital. The winning school was Coulston Elementary in Shelbyville and we were lucky enough to deliver our programming to their school in the fall of 2014!
In 2015, our relationship continued to prosper as Nine13sports participated in the Get Healthy Here Farmers Market for the second consecutive year on the second Saturday in July. This event is held to increase awareness about health and wellness and for that reason, Shelbyville and Shelby County Farmers partnered to highlight healthy eating and physical activity. Also, a beautifully well-written and insightful piece about us was written about Nine13 and published in the Saturday Shelby the day of our event in Shelbyville. Thank you to Major Hospital for believing in our mission here at Nine13 early and for your continued support over the years. We’re looking to what the future has in store for our partnership!
