As part of a continuing series that will be running every Thursday, we’re going to be featuring the backgrounds and services of our numerous sponsors and partners. Furthermore, we’re going to exhibit how their relationship with us is making an impact in the lives of youth and in the community. Today, our focus is on the Lids Foundation:
Hospital Overview:
Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent was founded on Core Values that support family-centered care—care that is focused on the unique needs of children and their families. Their facility was thoughtfully designed for children, and involves parents from start to finish in a whimsical space designed to be kid-sized and child-friendly. Their staff is specifically trained to care for children and includes more than 50 pediatric specialists and subspecialists on staff, along with experienced pediatric nurses, social workers, chaplains and allied health professionals.
Since they opened their doors in 2003, Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent has been dedicated to providing extraordinary patient care for the children of Indiana. With a full range of pediatric services, state-of-the-art facilities and friendly atmosphere, patients from newborns to teens receive the best, most comprehensive care from doctors and nurses who understand the needs of children.
Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent has grown to 46 private inpatient beds, 15 beds in the Pediatric Intensive Care unit, 85 beds in the Newborn Intensive Care unit, and 17 beds in the Hilbert Pediatric Emergency Department, the first pediatric emergency room in the state of Indiana. The hospital also offers 24-hour physician coverage by pediatric hospitalists, intensivists, neonatologists, board certified emergency doctors, and a nursing staff with an average of 10 years nursing experience. The goal of Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent is to offer a complete continuum of care to children—from newborns to late adolescents. A multidisciplinary approach for family-focused care includes child life specialists, social workers, education specialists and pastoral care.
Relationship with Nine13sports:Â
Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent was one of our earliest partners, first collaborating with us for the Project 18 Summer Camp within Pike Township in 2013.  During the week-long camp, we saw each kid twice and instilled in them the multiple lessons and educational pieces that our Kids Riding Bikesâ„ program delivers. Moreover, each camper received a helmet as part of the camp for their at-home bicycle riding. Because of the overall success of the summer program in ’13, our services were retained again for the summer camp in 2014.
In January of 2015, Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital partnered with us for the first time to bring our programming to the Indianapolis Archdiocese Schools, with a program launch at St. Philip Neri on the eastside of Indianapolis. We had the privilege of working with a wonderful physical education teacher and serving students in grades 2-8. In July of 2015, we once again partnered with Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital to provide helmets to students at St. Philip Neri.

Our staff had the honor of distributing and fitting helmets for hundreds of students this past summer.
Recently, we just announced that we’ve once again renewed our partnership with Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital to deliver our programming to the Indianapolis Archdiocese Schools, this time at Central Catholic School on the southeast side of Indianapolis. Programming here will begin in January and we’ll be working with upwards of 200 students per day of programming.  Additionally, this will mark the second Archdiocese school to have Kids Riding Bikesâ„ within their physical education curriculum.  We’re excited to renew our partnership with Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital and look forward to continuing to expand our relationship with St. Vincent into 2016 and beyond!
