During our first week of Kids Riding Bikesâ„  programming following fall break, our staff has had the honor of working with 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders at IPS/Butler Laboratory School 60. With the kids feeling rested after a nice time off from school, and taking into consideration it was our first week there, it was only natural that we were greeted with a great deal of enthusiasm upon our arrival. The kids were all exceptionally well-behaved and gave their optimal effort when riding our bikes. In addition, the kids and their teacher all gave us a genuine and loud, “Thank You!” at the conclusion of their respective gym class.

At the end of the day, the 68 students that rode our bikes accumulated a combined 38.2 miles. To put that into perspective, one lap around the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway is 2.5 miles, therefore, the kids altogether rode just over 15 laps around the Speedway. That’s pretty impressive!

The amazing staff and students at IPS/Butler Lab School 60 get a big thumbs up from our Director for fitness on bikes!

The chance to work with these unbelievable youth and cultivate the importance of health, fitness, and exercise is because of the amazing people at the Central Indiana Community Foundation. Thank you so much for your commitment to making Indianapolis and the surrounding community a better place for all of us!
