It’s been an exciting time here at the Nine13sports Headquarters. Since we rolled into January of 2015, we’ve seen revenue increase over 500% from year over year, dozens of new schools embrace Kids Riding Bikes programs, our sister program launch in Portland, and multiple corporate partners coming on board with significant contributions to underwrite school program offerings.

With the momentum we have experienced in Indiana, and the consistent inquiries about taking our program to new markets, I’m excited to finally be able to say that we are officially beginning to identify and scout new cities that would embrace Nine13sports in 2016.

This identify and scout effort will focus on six cities, with a goal of selecting two to deliver programming services beginning in the second half of 2016.

Those six cities selected for additional scouting are:

  • Minneapolis, Minnesota
  • Austin, Texas
  • Nashville, Tennessee
  • Denver, Colorado
  • Louisville, Kentucky
  • Columbus, Ohio

The cities on our initial list have been selected for a multitude of reasons. They feature a strong business sector, a healthy philanthropic vision, and a population with a varied socioeconomic background and a variety of urban and suburban public schools. Most importantly, they are all cities that we believe will be well suited to fully embrace and engage with Nine13sports and will benefit tremendously from our vision of Kids Riding Bikes.

Over the next few weeks, we expect to be making some key announcements related to our Central Indiana offerings and expansion, most notably, our effort to triple our capacity in 2016 within the Central Indiana region. There has been a lot of behind the scenes action over the last six months and it is culminating with a 4th quarter of 2015 that will reshape the landscape of Nine13 in positive and vibrant ways.

I expect to be working closely with representatives from each of our new potential markets to understand the intimate dynamics in each city and to have their support both in growing our vision and with financial resources to help support these expansions. Our Director of Program Curriculum, Ashley Acuff, will be working with the respective school districts in each city to learn about their specific curriculum and how we best integrate into their daily school operations.

Thank you to all who have been part of this journey since I launched Nine13 programs in 2012. I’m beyond excited to see what the next 12 months will bring to our growing operation and my vision of spreading the joy of the bicycle across the country.

Sincerely,

Tom Hanley
